Who are we ?
SAMO, Savoie Alpes Machines Outils, is a family-run business based in Haute-Savoie, in the heart of the Arve Valley, the historic home of French "décolletage". Founded in 1979 by Michel Durandard, it is now run by his son Alain Durandard, who carries on the company’s expertise.
This geographical proximity to the cradle of bar turning is no coincidence: it has shaped our business. Over the decades, SAMO has supported the evolution of bar turning and machining workshops, both in France and internationally, by specialising in the trade of second-hand machine tools and the refurbishment of Tornos multi-spindle automatic lathes and centreless grinders.
